A poverty mentality is not about how much money you have. With a poverty mentality you could have a million dollars and it wouldn't make a difference at all! It's about fear & lack. If you have this spirit you will believe you are not good enough to be blessed, so you cling to what you have, in case you lose it. God wants to deal with this! The truth is God wants to bless us....Psalm 23 says "The Lord is my best friend and shepherd, I ALWAYS have more than enough". Read Genesis 22:14 it describes Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. God's provision is always available so that we can fulfil our destiny and His will! Read 2 Corinthians 9:8 about grace...It overflows... Always ALL sufficiency! We are sons of the King and our King is not stingy! He wants to see us prosper & succeed in "all" He has planned for us! The poverty spirit doesn't believe this... it believes we are all unworthy.
