Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Corinthians 5:8...... When the commandment is given to keep the feast, it is not just talking about keeping this Jewish memorial but keeping the sin out of our lives. When it says to eat the bread of sincerity and truth, it means that the Holy Spirit will witness to us in sincerity and the Word of God will testify of truth!!! This exhortation is a commandment to rid ourselves of sin when taking communion and to live that way, not just in the feast time, but all the time--as the Holy Spirit and the Word testify for us to live. Communion...A key to overcoming in these days we live...
In John 6:48-51 it reads in The Passion , "I AM the true Bread of Life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert and died. But standing here before you is the true Bread that comes out of heaven, and when you eat this Bread you will never die. I alone am this living Bread that has come to you from heaven. Eat this Bread and you will live forever. The living Bread I give is my body, which I will offer as a sacrifice so that all may live." There is a difference between eternal life and living forever. The only reason I would die is if there is a record of sin in my DNA. I do not need to die, none of us do. But we need to undergo transformation by applying the body and blood of Jesus. The body and blood of Jesus carry the record of the DNA of God. We can age and die, or we can take the body and blood of Jesus within ourselves, and live forever!. Jesus says in John 6:58, "I am not like the bread your ancestors ate and later died. I am the living Bread that comes from heaven.
