In the study of all things, eschatology, it is all about Jesus. It isn't about us, not about the church, not about the world- it is about Jesus. He comes to sum up all things He holds every thing together. All the Old Covenant looks forward to Jesus. All the New Covenant looks back to Him. So each time we look at scripture, we must interpret it through Jesus' message and His Person. You can't take it in isolation! All history was consummated in Jesus and will be consummated in Him. 2 Cor. 1:20 states "Therefore , for as many as are the promises of God, they all find their YES in Him." Every promise in the Bible finds its answer in Christ. Every single one is fulfilled in Jesus. We all need to get a firm hold on that very important principle, Amen!
In John 6:48-51 it reads in The Passion , "I AM the true Bread of Life. Your ancestors ate manna in the desert and died. But standing here before you is the true Bread that comes out of heaven, and when you eat this Bread you will never die. I alone am this living Bread that has come to you from heaven. Eat this Bread and you will live forever. The living Bread I give is my body, which I will offer as a sacrifice so that all may live." There is a difference between eternal life and living forever. The only reason I would die is if there is a record of sin in my DNA. I do not need to die, none of us do. But we need to undergo transformation by applying the body and blood of Jesus. The body and blood of Jesus carry the record of the DNA of God. We can age and die, or we can take the body and blood of Jesus within ourselves, and live forever!. Jesus says in John 6:58, "I am not like the bread your ancestors ate and later died. I am the living Bread that comes from heaven.
